Small talk.

I don’t want small talk. It gives me anxiety.

Tell me about the time you slow danced to the beat of the wind howling in your ears. Tell me about the book you read that made you want to rip your heart out just so you could stop feeling so much. Tell me about how the summer brings back certain memories that leave you feeling cold to the bone, and how in winter, you wrap yourself with a blanket made of those very same memories.

Tell me about how, sometimes, when you stand on top of a tall building, you imagine what it would be like to fly. Tell me about how you make such beautiful poetry out of the darkness you have inside you.

Tell me about how you gave all the money you had in your wallet to the little girl begging on the road because she reminded you of your dead sister. And tell me about how you just sat down crying on the road after seeing a smile light up her whole face and how your friend had to drag you back home.

Tell me about all the dreams you keep hidden in the crevices of your soul. Tell me about what makes you.. You. I don’t want small talk.
