- The one who comes and stands beside you, and makes all kinds of sad faces in hopes that you will take pity on them and give up your seat.
And you have to pretend to not see them, because you were standing for more than 20 minutes at the bus stop, because you wanted a place to sit on the bus and if they think you are going to give up your seat after THAT, they are very much mistaken. Unless, it is an old person or a pregnant lady, in which case you will give up your seat gladly because you are a nice person.
- The one that hogs the seat.
And you have to sit there in the tiny space they provide you, clenching your teeth and cursing to yourself.
- The creep who keeps staring at you the whole time and smirking.
You feel like punching his face, or at the very least cursing him, but you can’t. Why? Because you are in public – the place where it’s okay for people to stare at you creepily, but if you do/say something about it, you are a “total bitch.”
- The one who comes running from the other end of the bus, as soon as someone gets up from their seat, and pushes you out of the way to sit there even though you were standing RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE SEAT.
- The one that comes and asks you if the bus is going to a particular place even though it is written very clearly on the board that the bus is, in fact, going to that very same place.
And since you can’t do anything about them, you settle for are-you-kidding-me looks instead.

Awesome. Looks like you are traveling in public buses a lot 😀 I travel daily & have encountered all these kind of people 😉

That’s awesome 😀 I read, write, stare, look during the bus journey. Best time of the day 😀

YES! So do I. 😀 I love travelling. Especially, when the weather is nice. 😀

Oh yeah! But, you must be having friends to accompany you & nag you once in a while, during the journey 😉 I am all alone and that’s a bliss, in some cases 😀

No, I travel alone. My friends don’t live near my place. Sometimes, I meet people on the bus. But, I’m mostly alone. 🙂 And, yeah. That IS bliss. 😀

I can’t stop smiling on how similar our situations are 😀 One day, I met a girl who was reading Aleph of Paulo Coelho and it was great talking about books & TV series with her. But forgot to get her contact 😀 We never know, what kind of journey we are going to have today 😉

Okay, now you’re just making me jealous! I haven’t met any guy like that on the bus! *sobs*

I didn’t ask the girl for her contact 😦 I should be the one sobbing 😀 Just know her name(read first name, which is very common) 😛 Finding someone reading books in bus is very rare, but possible. Wait for your turn, someone will turn up 😛

But.. but.. at least you met someone. *sobs even harder*

Hope is very powerful and this Hope will get you going and create some circumstances in which you can meet someone in the bus with a book. Seems fair? 😉 Don’t sob so much, the tissue roll will be over :O

Hahaha. Maybe you should write a post about what you would like to happen if you meet that girl again. 😉

That will be kind of personal 😛 But, I don’t even remember how she looked because she was sitting in the front seat and we were talking over her shoulder 😉 This incident was like 1 and a half years back 😀 Long way back 😉

Guy no. 4. The audacity I tell you! I also seem to have a problem with women who sit in men’s seats and won’t budge. I mean, I don’t mind standing but don’t make such a fuss when men sit in the ladies’ seats too.

I take the busy commuter train rather than the bus every day, but some of the personality types you describe are the same.
Having said that, I was a little confused about one thing you mentioned. Something to do with giving up a seat… Hmm… seats… Yes, they do sound vaguely familiar. I think I may have heard of those somewhere before. Never seen one myself, though.

Hahaha. 😀 I leave by 7.30 in the morning, so the buses aren’t usually that crowded. So, I don’t have to stand usually. 🙂

That’s nice! What’s it like having a seat? Sadly, I can only imagine.

Oh, it’s amazing, I tell you! You can just stare out the window, with your earphones on, and ignore the rest of the world. *bliss*

Hahaha this is spot on. I used to have to share a seat with someone on trips who would always say, “I love sitting by you. I need one and a half seats and you only take up half!” But no, I take up a whole seat because I paid for it!
LikeLiked by 2 people
Damn. People say that to me too. “You only take up half.” Hahaha

We should just respond, “That’s funny because I paid for the WHOLE seat!”

Exactly. I’m tired of these “you are so tiny” jokes. *sighs*

This was relatable. 🙂

You cracked me up.
Even though I don’t travel by the Bus all that often like you seem to do,seeing as my college is only a 7 minute walk from my PG(thank God for that*relieved sigh*), I do have to use a bus every couple of weeks when I gotta come back home. Annnnnd,I can vouch for this. I have experienced this in those far stretched, unfortunate 2 hours.
Really. The creep factor keeps on rising. The rushing and waiting on your head, I have experienced on the metro though.*widens her eyes*

Hahaha! 😀 I love travelling, though. Only when I get to sit and ignore the rest of the world. Otherwise, I keep cursing the whole way through. *grins* 😀

I do, too. But by the train.:D
Bus and cars make me pukey. So,I generally can’t enjoy all that much, you see. I am trying to keep my last meal down. And,thus can’t concentrate on my surroundings. *sighs*
But yeah. Traveling is kinda fun,I agree.:D

Haha. I’ve met all those kinds of people in my daily commute. And there is one more, people who produce a ₹500 note for a ₹6 ticket. Then there is no limit for the conductor’s anger.

Oh, shit! YES! I forgot that! Early in the morning, that too. It is hilarious to watch the conductor curse them. Haha. 😀

Yeah you people do your research before you embark on a travel and be at the bus stop on time! That way, the only way you can annoy people is by staring at them. So glad I got a bicycle…
