Happiness.

Her whole body, exploded in happiness

From the tips of her fingers, to

The very core of her heart

You could see it in her eyes

It was like somebody

Had shone a light, into

A dark room

Drawn the blinds, and opened the windows

Letting a beam of light

Shine inside the dark and gloomy room

She was like a bird, that

Had finally figured out

How to fly

She walked out of her home

With her head held high, and

Her happiness lighting her up

Glowing like a firefly

In the dark dark streets

People watched in awe, at

This woman, whose whole body

Was exploding with fireworks

Like the fourth of July.

They talked about this woman

Who walked with the air

Of someone who knew

She was untouchable.

  1. Im just gonna ignore the post script since I am a Muslim and Christmas is directly offensive to my belief, but woooowww, the poem is amazing. I loved the imagery. Those little descriptions.
