The world sells
destruction.
And,
I eat it for breakfast.
My home.
No, not a home.
My house
is too small
to fit in
all my anger
and destruction.
I see it leaking.
Cutting the sunlight
in two.
I sold my soul
to the devil
but, all he gave me
was this graveyard
of memories
that sits on my eyelashes,
instead of the dreams
he promised me.
One night,
I touched the sky
and asked,
“where are all The Good Things
in life”.
The moon placed
its palm
on my heart,
and whispered
here.
here.
here.

Beautiful poem and intense. I can picture your character “eating destruction” feeling blown away and crushed by life. The devil only tricks and lies, does not give good things, only takes your soul. Luckily, the moon reveals where the good should cone from your heart. It can choose what it give out, good or bad. It’s where God lives as well.

LOVE those last lines,
“The moon placed

on my heart,
and whispered

here.
here.”
And the accompanying photo is poignant. There is a mythic scope and feel to the tone of this piece. Fine work.
